only one thing is certain in life

Your fragile heart breaks into contradictions
and tempts me with its insecurity
Crumbling like archaic, structurally unsound infrastructure
of which with every ounce of strength,
maintains an assertion that is has the right to exist
that its ideology is not so much antiquated but tradition...
No doubt it will persevere.

But in time, things do fall apart.

How beautiful this fickle mortality
It's fleeting temperament, it's vulnerability
How beautiful that nothing can be grasped
So as I hold your fragile heart in my palms,
I am prepared to let it go
When the seasons change and the birds migrate south.
